The assignment was to develop packaging with a focus on sustainability. I wanted to create more than just a container: it had to work in practice, be interesting to look at and have a clear visual expression.

From idea to packaging
I started with sketches and idea development around the shape of the packaging. I wanted to get away from the classic spice tin and explore how the construction itself could become part of the product’s expression.
I made several test prints along the way to adjust shape, size, joins and the placement of graphics. The packaging was made from recyclable cardboard, with a focus on minimising the use of glue and other materials.

The campaign
As part of Marketing and Branding (Markedsføring og branding) I built further on WeHerb as the sender. The name is a play on “we” and “herb”: the idea of “us, the ones who grow”. Here I worked with colours, typography and illustrations that could work across the whole product line.
During the “Shake up the season” campaign I carried the visual universe on into a social media reel, a post, an outdoor poster and a website. The focus was on keeping the recognisability while adapting the design to the different media.

What I take with me
WeHerb gave me the chance to work from the first sketch to a physical product and on to a full campaign. I worked with graphic design, packaging construction, production and marketing, and gained experience in how a visual concept can be developed and used across media.
I finished Design C with a bang and a gorgeous 12 (the top grade in the Danish scale). The school period also included Communication and Presentation II (Kommunikation og formidling II) and Marketing and Branding, where I received a 10 and a 12 respectively.
