Privaty, from logo to prototype

Privaty is a concept for a European alternative to GitHub, where I was responsible for the visual identity and designed the website as an interactive prototype in Figma. The project gave me the chance to work with both branding and digital design from the ground up.

From idea to identity

Since Privaty is a new company, I started by developing a visual foundation that could be used across the brand.

I worked with the ideas of privacy, security and open source, which were turned into a logo with a shield as a symbol of security and a more fluid expression referencing open source.

From identity to prototype

With the visual identity in place, I began turning it into a digital interface in Figma. I worked mobile-first and therefore started with the smallest format, where content and features had to be prioritised.

Along the way I worked with grids, typography, hierarchy and components to create a cohesive user experience. The prototype made it possible to test user flows and see how the design could work across different screen sizes.

What I take with me

Privaty gave me experience carrying a visual identity from logo and colour palette through to a digital interface. As a media graphic designer (mediegrafiker) I worked with graphic design, UI/UX, typography and responsive principles, and gained a better understanding of how a static design has to be approached differently when it needs to work digitally.

The project also gave me the chance to work with Figma as a tool for design, prototyping and presenting a digital solution.
